Исторически сложилось. В обычной версии запустил с ключос /SILENT и до свидания, а в портабельной ещё надо подумать, как обновить нормально.

Лучше кнопка (Проверить обновления). При запуске — плохой вариант. Лично я не люблю, когда программы сразу же в инет лезут без спроса.

Мне как-то всё равно. Лишь бы не принудительно обновлялись.

Если кто не в курсе, в ММ можно:
1) Проверять обновления вручную (? -> Проверить наличие новой версии)
1а) Просто скачать её куда-нибудь
1б) Скачать и автоматически установить (да, уже можно)
2) Проверять обновления автоматически (раз в 1, 7, 28 дней - по умолчанию 28) и
2а) Просто узнать об этом (по умолчанию) -> см пункт 1
2б) Автоматически скачать и установить при следующем запуске ММ (внешний эффект - следующий запуск ММ длится дольше)

2) Check for updates automatically ( every 28 days) then ask the player if he wish to install

I've got a problem with the last update (4.2), I click update then it opens a window asking me with which program I wish to open the file. Like winrar, winzip or such. But it doesn't specify which file, so I don't know what to select.

Try again.

Now it asks me to uninstall it because "installer version is dropped"

Does the new preserve the presets or everything is erased (I have about 10 presets)?

Copy directory "Presets" from %APPDATA%\Era II Mod Manager to <Game Dir>\Tools\Mod Manager
(windows explorer should correctly process %APPDATA% path, if not -> this is C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Era II Mod Manager)

Nothing is as you say in my system.

Appdata is a folder in C: (search says so) but when I open C: drive, there is no such folder. When I open this folder directly from research window, there is nothing about mod manager or presets in Roaming folder, but only one subfolder, microsoft.

Looks like major changes are required for last version, eh?
