Sea great that it works now
I will now explain the difficulty settings in this mod because the way I implemented it, it seems to confuse people.
First of all the Difficulty Mod is enabled by default, meaning whenever you start a game and make not additional settings (Exit. No Changes) it is enabled! The difficulty depends on your selected game difficulty.
Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert, Impossible
What Bonuses will the AI receive (all written in the manual by the way
) I will now quote from it:
From my readme:
It gives little buffs to all AI players dependent on selected game difficulty.
But you might wanna be careful with the highest difficulty now :P
At game start you can select "Choose each setting manually" and later select "Progressive Difficulty" If selected, you can enter a value for "Payday", this is the day at which the AI starts to receive these bonuses:
Then enter a value for "Progressive Difficulty day, this is the gameday at which the game difficulty increases. Like from Hard to Expert.
This will increase the bonuses for the computer player. This option allows for better scaling and keeps the game challenging and difficult later.
Increases one of the Primary Skills of any AI Hero when level up by:
Easy- 0% chance
Normal- 50% chance of 1 Random Point
Hard- 100% chance of 1 Random Point
Expert- 100% chance of 2 Random Points
Impossible- 100% chance of 3 Random Points
Gives AI Player Ressources daily
Easy- None
Normal- 1000 Gold and 1 of every Ressources
Hard- 2000 Gold and 2 of every Ressources
Expert- 3000 Gold and 3 of every Ressources
Impossible- 5000 Gold and 5 of every Ressources
Gives AI spellpoints, movement and experience daily
Easy- 2 Spell Points, 250 Exp, 0 Movement
Normal- 3 Spell Points, 500 Exp, 200 Movement
Hard- 5 Spell Points, 1000 Exp, 400 Movement
Expert- 7 Spell Points, 2000 Exp, 600 Movement
Impossible- 10 Spell Points, 5000 Exp, 1000 Movement
Gives AI Creatures on every second day! they are added to every occupied slot from the Hero
Easy- 2 lvl_1, 2 lv_2, 1 lvl_3
Normal- something inbetween
Hard- 5 lvl_1, 4 lv_2, 3 lvl_3, 2 lvl_4, 1 lvl_5, 1 lvl_6,
Expert- something inbetween
Impossible- 10 lvl_1, 8 lv_2, 4 lvl_3, 3 lvl_4, 2 lvl_5, 1 lvl_6, 1 lvl_7
Now my mistake, when releasing the mod, was that it is ofc based on my playstyle and I always play at
Hard difficulty, which is quite doable, even from start. But all other people seem to select Impossible. I wanted to create a system where Impossible realy is a true challenge! So the bonus for AI is very big and you most likely have no chance if you start your game on Impossible.
You can now do the following 3 options:
1) At map start you can select "Deactivate AI Difficulty Mod" then the AI will receive
NO bonus, never.
2) Select the option "Progressive Difficulty" at map start. And enter values for
Payday and
Difficulty Increase
For example, you start your game at
Hard and if you set "payday" to day 4 and "difficulty increase" to day 10 the AI will no get bonus until day 4 after day 4 AI will get bonus according to list above. After day 10 the difficulty will increase from
Hard to
Expert, so AI will get more bonus.
3 option) You start your game on Expert and deactivate AI Difficulty Mod. So nothing will happen, easy game and time to develop your hero. During gaming, you decide it is now time to make the game more challenging. You right-click the System Icon on Adventure map (the option meu appears) and make
NEW settings, where you
don't select to deactivate the AI mod. Now AI will immediately start to receive bonus on Expert level! If you even want you can select a difficulty increase to next gameday and AI will start to get bonus on Impossible level. You will also receive an ingame message when it happens.
This is the most flexible system I can think off. It is just a bit difficult to understand. I hope I could help you!
@Berserker so yes it is possible
I still might have to rethink the system in a way that people better know what happens and won't be frustrated if they haven't read the manual.
