In UN:C help topic I posted about detecting different damage types. Death Gace is one of it, to my understanding, it should be possible to set the damage to zero with that. You just need to check for damage receiving stack -> creature type and if commander or whatever, set damage to zero.
I use this method for setting damage from Fire Shield to zero for dragons, for example.
