Effects Volume is a known bug. I think some primary WoG variable skills overlap with the original sound. Usually when I get this message, clicking on it crash the game.
Well, I think no one tested this tool full. There are thousand of options. Maybe stick to expert not not super? Maybe the chinese WoG has some additional features (they have a different WoG, as when they play my 3.58 maps they have always to modify the scripts)

I dont think you would enjoy WoG in chinese
Just try to use the tool with the features working. I tested adding artefacts, removing, adding/removing spells, and it works. Adding/removing creatures. And it is enough for me. If you want more, just visit their forums and ask there. But communication is not easy.

As I know, secondary skills in Heroes always have a "hidden reserve" for unofficial needs of developers. But access to it is only possible with memory editing tricks. It's a "supercheating" for advanced cheaters.

I don't know much about memory editing but I can say several WoG commands can create this bug, where you get strange things and crashes.
For example, this script for my Empire III map sometimes created "sound volume" instead of pathfinding expert icon. Clicking on it make the game crash. Two days later, the bug dissipate alone, and never returns:

It is clear that the script has nothing which could affect the memory. The code is awful basic. Still...

I deleted it by mistake from rapidshare and the tool in chinese forums is no more available. I asked there for a new download link, when I get it, I will post it.

I don't know about technical aspects but when I start it, I click on "get hero info" and it gets it in less than a second. Then change, save, you are done.
