RE: 3DS imported creatures - Valery - 03.07.2010 15:43 Is there a small possibility that someone makes a tool which imports the custom def in game: 1) Open tool, it ask to browse for a def in your custom folders 2) After you pick the def, it asks to choose a creature in the list (all creatures) 3) After you pick the name of the creature it moves the def here and rename it to the creature you picked name (eg: the def name was 1.def, you picked cavalier, it renames it to ccavlr.def when moving). 4) Creates the 5 file txt and add ccavlr.def in sprite.txt 5) Create wog file from those 5 text files and moves it to update folder (ask to browse) 6) Run update 7) creature is in Lod, without manipulations (name def, name rar to wog etc) I think such tool would greatly simplify the use of new defs, but I have no idea how hard would be. I could help in creating the full creatures lists with right names, but coding no. RE: 3DS imported creatures - Deo - 03.07.2010 16:42 Valery, you can add any def in heroes3 lod with def tool ![]() Also on "misc" tab thereis creature list with combat animation name. ![]() RE: 3DS imported creatures - Valery - 03.07.2010 16:59 No, it wasn't about that but for already done defs. Def tool can't open them. RE: 3DS imported creatures - Deo - 03.07.2010 17:21 Oh, sorry, my mistake. RE: 3DS imported creatures - gamecreator - 04.07.2010 02:18 maybe simplelod? but it will do this in easy way, without wogfile and h3wupd. RE: 3DS imported creatures - Valery - 04.07.2010 04:02 I have no idea how it would work, but should not be very difficult. My concern is that 99% of players have no idea what compression is wog, what are creatures names, what is a def tool, what is a def, what is a lod. They would love to play with new models but the install process is too heavy for them. Of course the mapmaker can provide a wog file with all names setup (we always did that), but in the case one just build some custom defs and the player should pick which creature to replace, build the wog file, pick name, he is helpless. What is easy for modders may become very complicate for players to implement. Should be automatized, if there is a slight chance it can. (not a request from me, but a suggestion, and I could help for listing them etc) The creatures archive (HC) count so far more than 120 new models, but still no one picks them, for obvious reasons: they have no idea how to do it. RE: 3DS imported creatures - gamecreator - 04.07.2010 19:35 it's easy to create a program with that choice. it will simply copy the file with new name and call simplelod to pack it. the hardest is collect creature list with corresponding def names. RE: 3DS imported creatures - Valery - 04.07.2010 19:49 I can make such list if one of you agree to make that program. 1) Ask to browse for def 2) Ask which creature should replace and show list of all creatures 3) Rename the def (keep backup) 4) ask for HoMM folder location and Import in lod 5,6,7,8) Optional ask for adventure map def and do same thing. RE: 3DS imported creatures - gamecreator - 04.07.2010 20:54 well, ok. i'm waiting for three lists. RE: 3DS imported creatures - Valery - 04.07.2010 21:12 Great. RE: 3DS imported creatures - gamecreator - 04.07.2010 21:24 one list of names. one list of def names. one list of map def names. they can be in any form, but all lines formatted in the same way (as in your sample). you can add map def names to the end of each line. RE: 3DS imported creatures - Valery - 19.08.2010 00:05 I have an humble question for those who can work with 3Ds. I am dying to have wow models with weapons. But WoW models have quite unusual bones, they are in blocks and on the model right side. I merged the weapon, unhidded all so now I am able to see both blocks of bones, the weapon and model. Now I need to link the weapon to the model, so it follows the animation. But how to find the bone n*47, which is the right arm bone, no idea...If we link the weapon to the hand by clicking on the hand, nothing happens because the bone is not there, but on right side. So far, the weapon is attached to the model, but it is moving weird and detached from the body at some animations. Please help. Hello, do you have all these elephants in Heroes animation file format? maybe with details about their attack/defence/hit points etc? (Links on mediafire is dead) I want to make a MOD with hinduism theme (Mahabharata), so there are elephants is a must (the more - the better). And, do you know how to convert from some 3d-modelling software into Heroes animation format as fast as possible... I use Unity3d (game engine), there are some elephants, horses (on assets store) etc, but have no idea how to convert from their FBX file format to Heroes. I know it is possible using Maya, but never tried, neither 2d nor 3d version. Are those civilization files compatible with Heroes? Never played Civilization, but know there are elephants and other Indian units, so want to try modding civilization as well (or taking units from Civilization to Heroes mod) RE: 3DS imported creatures - Valery - 09.01.2020 06:58 here are all creatures package for Heroes, by Itsjustme, Axolotl and me (about 1500?) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_ElatWBBAzf90ZyQU3_IUgtG0bNXFLtG https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uPZLLb6WrLAGUvt9oDV1PEPZud1MHg78 https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fnf1bV8xoITYA8cR8msDrls3v-nK8Hp0 (I think elephants are here) |
